Parenting Support

Parenting with Confidence, Connection & Care

A supportive, attachment-focused parenting group for parents/caregivers of young children (ages 0–6) that want to feel more attuned in their parenting.

Parenting young children can feel deeply meaningful and, at times, incredibly hard.

Many parents of young children come to this group doing their very best, yet still feel unsure how to respond when emotions run high. You may find yourself stuck in cycles of big feelings, meltdowns, separation struggles, or bedtime battles, all while trying to stay calm, connected, and confident as a parent.

The Circle of Security Parenting™ (COSP™) group at Cool Creek Counseling is a supportive, attachment-focused parenting group created specifically for parents and caregivers of children ages 0–6. This virtual group helps parents better understand what young children are communicating through behavior and how to respond in ways that support emotional security, connection, and healthy boundaries during these early years.

Rather than focusing on fixing behavior, this group supports parents in:

  • Understanding the emotional needs beneath young children’s behavior

  • Responding with both warmth and structure

  • Noticing patterns that show up during everyday challenges

  • Building confidence in your role as your child’s secure base

This group offers space for reflection, learning, and support without judgment, pressure, or expectations of perfection.

The Circle of Security Parenting™ group is a parent education program, not therapy, runs for 8 consecutive weeks and is facilitated by a Registered Circle of Security Parenting™ Facilitator at Cool Creek Counseling.

What the 8-week group looks like

This is an 8-week virtual group, meeting once per week for one hour.

Each week, parents will:

  • Watch short video examples of real parent-child interactions

  • Learn key Circle of Security Parenting™ concepts related to connection, emotions, and limits

  • Reflect on how these ideas show up in their own parenting

  • Discuss common challenges with other parents in a supportive, guided space

The group builds gradually from week to week, helping parents develop a clearer understanding of their child’s emotional needs and their own responses over time.

This group may be a good fit if you:

  • Are parenting a child between birth and age six

  • Want to feel more confident and grounded in everyday parenting moments

  • Are interested in attachment-based parenting and emotional connection

  • Find yourself unsure how to respond during meltdowns, transitions, or separations

  • Want support that feels thoughtful, realistic, and respectful

Parents often share that this group helps them feel calmer and clearer in hard moments, not because parenting becomes easy, but because they better understand what their young child needs and how they want to show up.

This group may not be the best fit if you:

  • Are looking for quick behavior fixes, reward charts, or scripts

  • Prefer a highly directive or skills-only parenting class

  • Are not open to reflection or discussion as part of learning

Enrollment is currently open for our upcoming 8-week virtual Circle of Security Parenting™ group for parents and caregivers of children ages 0–6, available to families across Pennsylvania.

If you are looking to parent your young child with greater confidence, attunement, and connection, this group was created with parents like you in mind. Fill out our contact form for more information!
